This palace on the northern edge of the city took almost a hundred years to be completed. Built for Charles of Bourbon from 1738, it has a distinctive pinky-orange and gray colour. An extensive restoration project was undertaken in the 1990s.
The palace now houses the Museo e Gallerie di Capodimonte, which has several masterpieces uncluding works by Bellini, Botticelli, Caravaggio, Masaccio and Titan. The palace and museum are open between 8:30 am and 7:30pm from Tuesday to Sunday.
